Looking For Local Musicians in Ct.
Hi, I've been playing guitar for 13yrs. I am into 60's-70's Progressive Rock, Experimental, Psychedlic, Early Stage Punk. What my style of guitar is basically, Metal, Psychedlic, Blues, and Experimental. I am looking for just about anyone w/ any kind of talent, or possesses a drive to make something original and also unique. I am sorry to say, I am not in to playing covers, or have I ever been. I've had my share of playing out, and being interviewed for music, as well as a few tv spots. I do not have a jam space, but I am willing to travel. I own an Early Prod. 98-w/e Hagstrom Select Ultralux Swede, the Amp is a 30Watt(loud enuff for playing w/ a drumset), Vox VT-30. If you know about tube amps, this amp has a tube in the Power Amp, instead of the Pre-Amp..which gives it an almost completlely tube-like sound. I am 28, and would like to create anything special or severely meshed styles any band, any time. Vocals can either come along as we go(w/ Hamonies), or later. Unless this turns out to be purely instrumental, w. some odd sounds, samples, or looping.. please let me know if you are able to get into a free-flowing assembly of sound, or have a drive to create original, yet influenced music. Not to be confused w/ a jam band...PLEASE. Try to think of the early freestylings of NYC freestyle, to the organized chaos of Floyd, and quick speed, of thrash, early ecclectic punk, No-Wave to jazzy riffage w/ a tuned drum-kit, and some odd timed percussion or flute. WIRED - Seeks Pro Singer
WIRED is currently seeking a new male lead singer - front man. We play 80s, 90s, and new modern rock and party music. We have become well established over the last four years, and are playing the A rooms throughout CT. We have two booking agents and also book on our own, with many club contacts. We have a web site, Myspace, and Facebook page, and have over 1,000 on our mailing list. We are also sponsored by a major beer label that provides promotional materials. We play out 2-3 times a month. The current lead singer is leaving for job related reasons so this is a great opportunity for the right person to get into an up and running band. Please read the following criteria and see if you think you fit into what we are looking for. You MUST be at least 21 years old. You MUST be DRUG FREE; a LITTLE alcohol is ok but no heavy drinkers. You MUST have some PREVIOUS STAGE EXPERIENCE and be ABLE TO SING. You MUST have a car and at least a part time job, this is not a career!!! You MUST have a good, positive attitude, and work well with others. You MUST be ready to give 100% to this project, no major side projects please. You MUST be a self starter, be able to learn material and practice ON YOUR OWN. You MUST be physically fit, able to look the part, not beautiful - just normal. PA and/or practice space is not necessary but would be a plus. We are looking for someone who can sing everything from GnR to Journey, Greenday to Metallica, Chili Peppers to Pearl Jam, new and old, high and low and everything in between. We will tailor our set to the right person. Equally important is stage presence, someone who can command a crowd of 50 to 500 with ease. We are looking for someone who is quick on their feet to fill dead air between songs. Someone who can think outside of the box and come up with new ideas to keep the crowd interested. We pride ourselves in being energetic and interesting all night. You must be ready to sing up to 40 songs per night, and leave it all out on the stage every time you play. She Eats Planets is looking for a new drummer, guy or girl
She Eats Planets is currently a four piece rock band comprised of all girls. We play a mix of pop/punk/rock. We're looking for a drummer, male or female, that likes playing the same kind of music. We also need someone who is dedicated and reliable. That means showing up to practice, learning songs on time, have gig-worthy equipment and transportation to practice and shows. You also have to be energetic and have fun on stage! We're all between the ages of 20 and 25 and we're looking for someone else in that age range. We practice weekly, every Sunday, at the University of New Haven and more frequently when we have shows coming up. We've covered artists like The Butchies, The Veronicas, The Donnas, Dishwalla, Letters to Cleo, Pat Benatar, Weezer, Sublime, No Doubt, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Save Ferris, The Hush Sound, Joan Jett, Barenaked Ladies, Blind Melon, Gin Blossoms, Counting Crows, and David Bowie. Many of these are our inspiration for the songs we are currently writing for our EP, which we will be recording as soon as we finish our originals. We're all very serious about music, but we ALWAYS have fun with it. We all agree that making music is pointless if you can't have fun doing it. We're bandmates, but we're also good friends.
